About Us

Welcome to Dimokriteio Cruises
With roots in Thrace, the homeland of the ancient philosopher Democritus, from whom we drew inspiration for the name Dimokriteio, our boat carries a rich maritime history dating back to 1944, when it was first constructed in Thessaloniki by shipwrights from Skiathos. Amidst the challenging times of the Greek Civil War, its construction was completed in 1948, and the vessel was named Agia Paraskevi.
Originally built as a traditional fishing trawler, equipped with a foresail and engine, it was acquired by our family in 1984 and transformed into a passenger-tourism vessel. Since then, our dedication, passion, and deep respect for its legacy have remained untouched by time.
Today, the boat continues its journey through the historic waters of Athens, Aegina, Salamis, and the Saronic Gulf, where ancient Greek mariners once sailed into history. Our commitment is to preserve its heritage, maintaining it in pristine condition while offering guests an authentic sailing experience.
